Camano Home for Sale: From the seller’s perspective
Always on Vacation
Eleven years ago we were looking for a place to live to get away from traffic, high property taxes and utility charges. We were looking for a slower pace of life. We found this lovely 1928 beach cottage in 2005, and we felt very privileged that we were the ones chosen to purchase this cottage. There was a long line of people ready to buy. We immediately felt like it was “home”. Somehow we still feel like we are always on vacation.
Changes to our Lives:
Our little cottage is where we have shared our heart. There were visits from many family members and friends. Our visitors came from near and far, including France, England, Korea and even Mongolia. What we have enjoyed the most was to provide a vacation home for our seven grandchildren and their parents. This home was a place to create memories and to head out for adventures.
Uniqueness of our Home:
Even though our home is listed as a two bedroom, there are four sleeping areas. The kitchen has lots of storage and is designed more like European homes that have furniture instead of your typical kitchen cabinets.
Covered patio, wrap around patio, and a beautiful arbor overlooks the grounds. The garden includes raised veggie beds, raspberries, strawberry plants and a line of boxwoods along the with the house. There are hundreds of different bushes, perennials, many tulips, lilies, blue flowers, peonies, and many varieties of flowering bushes. Everyone loves our Crocked Willow tree and the Kiwi tree.
There are four outbuildings. The one that could be “man cave” consists of a separate craft room used for our repurposing business, a short-stay bedroom, and a well-equipped tool shop. Three others serve as a garden shed, dry storage shed, and metal storage shed. Multiple areas of the home are already set up to for TV.
View from our Front Porch
We first had to get used to the quiet and the absence of traffic noise. Usually, the only sounds one can hear are birds and the occasional sound of a boat. You never know when you will see the eagles soaring overhead, spot a blue heron, or be surprised by the occasional raccoon family wandering through the property. Many little birds drink out of our bird bath.
It is always fun to see families walk past our home in search of adventures down at the beach. These include the search for seashells and crabbing. Everyone stops what they are doing to watch the gorgeous sunsets. Braver souls enjoy watching winter storms.
Madrona Beach is a unique place where we have felt safe. It is off the beaten path. We enjoy the mixture of large beautiful homes and small little cabins that have been here for years. Even the little run-down cottages have their own picturesque charm. You know you live in an area that has years of history and memory making for many families.
Now, it’s time to say goodbye and shout from the rooftops: Camano home for sale.
